Recruits: Current Month: Jan - you will either be happy with your parents on where they decided to live and send you to high school or unhappy with their decision. This is the annual time of year where college coaches visit the exact same high schools, they do every year (95% of the time). What does that mean?
If you are at one of those schools, you will be getting some exposure to college coaches so be ready to talk to them and impress them. If you don't be ready to see kids that you are better than get attention and offers while you don't. Big time programs produce tons of talents and tons of busts, while schools that might play with those schools on the field or just not be in the right geographical fit get missed by coaches. It is frustrating, but I doubt coaches will change as they are creatures of routine and habit. Eventually those busts end up on the transfer portal for another school to waste a scholarship on, but that is for another day.
What can you do? Be your own advocate. You have to work just as hard at recruiting if you don't go to one of the power schools as you do at being a great player. Get your parents involved to help you. You can do the work but might need them to pay for you to get verified on X/Twitter so that you can DM coaches. There are some good people that you can work/pay to help you with recruiting as well. Inbox me if you have questions on that, as there are lots of bad ones as well. If you can't afford either option, then you need to be emailing coaches, and filling out recruiting questionnaires.
It does take lots of time, but we at least put everything on a website for you to have access too, coaches contact info and recruiting questionnaires. Inbox me to try it for free. Good luck!
