The POWER 5 kid wants that NIL💰so he enters the portal. The FCS kid dreams to play in a stadium where there are 100k fans.🏟️ The D2 kid wants to be a D1 athlete.🏈 The D3 kid wishes he received an athletic scholarship from a D2 school.📚 There are kids who didn’t get a chance to play the game after high school. They watch games and wish they could play at any level. Think about it, if you are playing the game at the next level you are one of the few. Be grateful for ANY opportunity‼️

Rule to remember in D2 recruiting. If a Coach is responding to your texts, phone calls DMs they are interested in you. Don’t worry if that offer didn’t come yet. There are reasons we don’t offer everyone at one time. Each position is vastly different and at the D2 level academics & the current roster play a big role in the offer process.

Don’t get frustrated with a lack of response from D2/D3 coaches. I received over 100 DMs from Recruits & Coaches the last 24. We don’t have a dozen recruiting assistants at our level. Be patient, if you can ball and have a 3.0+ core GPA we will find you!

Every recruiting cycle we meet a couple guys like Johnny the recruit. D2 Coach in March “Hey Johnny we are interested in you!” Johnny the Recruit NO RESPONSE D2 Coach in April “Hey Johnny just following up! We are interested in you.” Johnny the Recruit NO RESPONSE D2 Coach in May “I see you don’t have any offers are you interested in us at all?” Johnny the Recruit NO RESPONSE D2 Coach in June “Wanted to try one more time and see if you were interested in us.” Johnny the Recruit NO RESPONSE John the Recruit in January “Coach can I come up on a visit?” D2 Coach NO RESPONSE Johnny ends up losing athletic aid because he responded to the D2 coach too late. Don’t be like Johnny.

If you’re a D2/D3 type of prospect I’d rather see a 7-8 games highlight or full career highlights vs a 3 game highlight. We don’t have enough manpower to watch new highlights each week. The offer will be there in November if you can ball I promise. #BCM #AllGas

As I head into my 24th year of college football I have l seen freshmen college athletes succeed tremendously and some who never made it past the first day of training camp. I thought I would share some 10 points for those joining a program this August.

Camp Invites are cool. Junior Day invites are nice. Virtual Days are special. Game Day visits are awesome. When an official visit invitation is received you know the school is 💯 interested in you. Remember this you are waiting for something better than D2/D3.

Football Camps across the country this summer… How was camp? WR “I learned a lot, loved the coaches but only got 2 reps in 1 on 1s because there were 48 TE/WRs.” How was camp? DB “Loved it but I need an ice bath, there were only 6 DBs and I took 132 reps in 1 on 1s.” #PlayDBAndGetThat💰

The absolute worst part of my job is telling a recruit we are unable to offer them because of their grades. Overlooked is the fact senior grades are rarely used in the recruiting process. What you do in 9th-11th grade can determine acceptance and often a lot of scholarship money.

Recruiting is tough, don’t let it get you down. Believe it or not It is tough for college coaches as well. Half of the messages I send to recruits go unanswered as well because of lack of interest. Both sides need to keep working until there are mutual fits! Remember it only takes one school to give you an opportunity!

The talent at the @NCAADII level is better than ever. If you are offered you are an elite talent. Don’t ever be disappointed if you “Only” have a few D2 offers.

Can’t remember the last time I watched recruit film without knowledge of their GPA. Grades come first!

If you can play and have the grades you will get an offer. If your DMs are open the offer will come faster.

Biggest misconception in @NCAADII football is the scholarship situation. The limit is 36 Equalivencies that means if a school is fully funded they can give 36 full or 72 Half scholarships or any other combination they can think of. Half the schools are not fully funded with some being as low as 6-7 scholarships to split up. 99% of all recruits are paying something to go to a D2 school. Understand at the D2 level your scholarship is not often life-changing money. Before you send messages to every coach who has his DM open check and see if you can afford the school through the cost of attendance calculator. If we offer you and three days later you schedule your visit, finish your application and have submitted all supporting materials we are impressed‼️ Everything in the recruiting process is evaluated. Especially when 💰💰💰💰 is involved.

2024 recruits and beyond! Be open to D2/D3 schools. Most of the players we will sign this year we had at camp and have been in contact with for close to a year. It’s very difficult to earn an FBS/FCS offer.

As my eyes welled up with tears I watched a legend tip his cap to a program he built. He walked into the sunset without fanfare as super heroes do. Thank you for everything. I promise we will carry on your legacy and make you proud.

As a solid @NCAADII football program we get hundreds of messages a day. We have a staff of nine coaches to recruit as well as build a championship program. If you don’t include your GPA & where you are from your message is probably going to be read at a much later time.

Two choices as a HS senior……🤔 What are you doing and why? 1) FCS PWO 2) D2 Scholarship player Not saying there is a wrong answer just curious if you are faced with this decision.

If you have FCS offers I am still going to recruit you. I’m sorry to bother you but some of those offers are pulled six months from now. We are keeping our options open, we hope you do too!

Division 2 recruiting is heating up right now now and it is stressful for everyone for one reason….💰💰💰💰💰 Quick run down of how this works. The schools have a set amount of scholarships they are allowed to give out. If they give out equalivencies or a dollar value it is the same idea they have to stay under a cap. Let’s just say the school has a budget of $200,000 Football Scholarship money to give out. They must offer more than $200,000 to use all of their money because not everyone will say yes. For example a program offers $20,000 at WR and they have offered four guys $10,000 a piece. This means if two kids take $10k a piece that money is gone and the other two are out of luck. It’s a harsh but true reality of the business. We keep our recruits informed of this to be transparent and honest but not everyone is as straight forward. Some programs will not spend all of their money by signing day because they did not get the recruits they offered but the schools who are in demand will unfortunately have to turn great players away because of lack of money or lack of roster spots.

Running track in the spring is 10,000 times better than training on your own for your football season. Plus then we as college coaches know exactly how fast you are!

If you work hard and get good grades (3.0 Core GPA or higher) in school you are guaranteed to get Academic merit money from some schools. If you work hard at your sport there is no guarantee to get an athletic scholarship from any school. Think about that for a second.

Class of 2025 things you MUST do between now and the start of your senior year. 👇🏽👇🏽 1- Finish your JR Year strong in the classroom. Your academic merit package and admission to schools is based mostly on your first three years of HS. If you are not playing a spring sport workout on the field as much as you do in the weight room. Get ready for a great SR Year‼️ 3-Watch spring practice of schools who are recruiting you. You will see how the coaches treat their players and the true morale of the team. 4- Attend Virtual JR Days They are free and time efficient. You can cross schools off the list or add a new one to your list. 5A-Pick camps that make sense. If you have FCS offers right now go to FBS camps. Gathering data, making offers, some having on campus visits. Where are you at in the process? The process is beginning and ending earlier every single year. Take an assessment where you are at. It’s ok not to go D1. Not everyone can play at that level but do not miss out on that D2/D3 opportunity!

Class of 2024 and beyond grind in the classroom! You don’t want to hear next year, “We need to see your Senior grades before we offer you.”

Why do coaches want you at their camp? We won’t offer until after senior year UNLESS we see you in person. We would rather have you at our camp so all of us can evaluate you instead of just one of us watching. If the DB coach sees a RB but the RB coach, OC and HC never sees him he will only go so high on the board. Could he still get an offer? Yea for sure but he will never max out his money without all eyes on him. You want everyone pounding the table for you to receive the offer instead of just one person.

In late January at the D2 level college staff meetings are occurring throughout the day to talk about their recruiting board. The board changes HOURLY‼️ One week you may not even have a walk on spot and the next day you have a scholarship offer. Keep your phone on, your DMs open, transcripts available and apply immediately if a coach asks you to apply. Remember it only takes one program to give you an opportunity! #BCM

Below are some characteristics which show me you are hungry to play at the next level. 1- Transcripts and film are ready and available. 2- When we offer you apply within hours not weeks. 3-When we offer visit dates you book the visit within hours not days. 4 - If you are able to enroll early you are enrolled early.

We give out partial scholarships at the @NCAADII level so every recruit is awarded differently. Every recruit is awarded based on program need, academics, and ability. When it comes to football ability we rely on two evaluations. 🏃🏾Live - In Person Camps or workouts. 🏋🏼 AND 🎞️ Film If we never saw you at a camp or workout but love your film we will offer. If we saw you at camp AND your film backs it up you are getting more 💰💰💰💰 because we feel more confident about our decision. Go to camps at all levels so you get in front of as many coaches as possible‼️

If you have not receieved a D1 offer yet and you’re not responding to D2/D3 coaches you may be ignoring the coach you are going to play for!

Advice to the class of 2024 playing D2/D3 ball in the fall. 1) Enjoy the last few days of your senior year. Enjoy your HS friends, it will never be the same after this year. 2) Do not underestimate the program you are joining. D2/D3 football is the truth. Once August comes it will be the hardest thing you have ever gone through. You will be competing against 22-23 year old grow-ups. 3) RUN, RUN,RUN. Follow the running program and position drills you have been given by your coaches. (Ladder drills and running long distance don’t help you play football.) 4) Respond to text messages and emails. Make a good first impression with your Coaches, trainers and the compliance officer. 5) Stay on top of your paperwork. Nothing says “I don’t care” more than being the kid on the sideline cause he didn’t do his paperwork. 6) Join zoom meetings if they are offered. Learn the Offense/Defense and have your video on during all presentations! 7) Don’t think you know it all. Ask friends who went to training camp as freshmen last year for tips. 8) Notice I didn’t mention lifting. Everyone does this. You must run as much as you are lifting! Bottom Line 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 1️⃣ Do whatever everyone else does better. 2️⃣ Do what others refuse to do to be great. Good luck in 2024‼️

Over the next couple of weeks D2/D3 coaches will be in full force evaluating and offering kids. Often we are going back on kids we saw over the summer. If you don’t have your film updated and your season is over you could miss out on at a great opportunity!!!! Remember put your best plays in the first 30 seconds!!

FYI You are on a recruiting board if you get a DM via Twitter. You can mass text and mass email but Twitter (X) messages must be sent one by one. If a coach hits you up via X they are legitimately interested in you! Oh yea all of you ballers who have your DMs closed you are missing out on an opportunity!

First day of contact for 2026 recruits is highly overrated. Don’t stress. I mean some of you haven’t played a ton of varsity snaps yet and will kill it your Junior year.

D2/D3 coaches don’t have personal recruiting assistants and are very busy getting ready for each game during the season. When I personally have extra time I evaluate recruits in my area first who have filled out our recruiting questionnaire. questionnaires.armssoftware.… Take the extra time fill out the questionnaire and then drop the area coach a DM saying it is complete! It is a 💯more effective than cutting and pasting the same message to every coach who has their DMs open.

We have not practiced with our college team since April 30th. We begin practice along with many other D2 programs on August 7th and we all will be prepared to play our first game. Why do many youth football programs practice more than college or NFL teams? Practicing all summer or in some cases year round is hard for families and the players themselves. Make your program an enjoyable experience! #KeepFootballFun

Never be afraid to go after what you want! Recruiting at the D2/D3 is hard for us to keep track of everyone. I miss texts/dms sometimes with the volume we get. Do not feel like you are bothering coaches if you DM/text or email again after not hearing back from them.

Offer here, OV there… “Honored to be invited” “Committed” “Preseason watch list” It’s everywhere. Constant. Right in your face. I remember watching a coach walk down the hall with my teammate and I wasn’t invited. Now? It’s 10x harder with social media. One thing that will always work: YOU vs YOU. Compete against yourself. Don’t compare. If you keep showing up, competing with yourself, and chasing YOUR goals… you’ll get to where you want to go.

Every level of football has the “wait and see” recruits. Don’t be insulted when a coach says you are on our board but we have to wait and see what happens to the guys who we have already offered. This can change at any point during the recruiting cycle. If you are interested in the school apply and get admitted into school. This shows you are motivated and will move you ahead of recruits who haven’t done the work you have.

Class of 2026 don’t fall into the D1 trap that is set by others! There is a very wise man who shared this quote with me. “You’re not an @FBSFootball or @NCAA_FCS recruit until one of the 261 programs provides you with a commitable opportunity to join their program.” Recruits, Parents, Coaches understand what is real. Keep your options open!

RECRUITS‼️‼️ Wait to send your 2025 film out. Here’s why: most college coaches will only watch your film once. If you rush and send it after one game, & it’s not absolutely lights out, you may lose your shot. Be patient. Build a strong resume with 3, 4, even 5 games before sending it out. When you finally hit send, make sure it’s undeniable.

I always flash back to that “too short” DE who had 2 sacks on the championship game or the 5’7” receiver who took one 80 yards to the house and had 12 TDs on the year. Not all offers are the same. An FBS offer might mean a full ride with NIL💰 — or just a roster spot at some FCS schools. Same goes for D2, and D3. If you get an offer, that program likes you — but ASK QUESTIONS. At our place, it could mean a roster spot or a partial scholarship. Know the details before you post. 🤔 If a D2 or D3 school sees your “D1 offer,” they might back off, thinking it’s a full ride… Meanwhile, your cost could be higher than at the lower level. 💡 Don’t limit your future by assuming. Ask. Understand. Choose wisely.
