Team USA: posts wholesome group after team dinners
Team UK: literally gets kicked out of pubs by getting too much free food sent to them by the internet
"can you draw Doomfist, but his fist is another smaller Doomfist?" @anhdangerous@kakimari ahahaha the best! Everyone come get signs at the arena today :3
. @ow_fleta 's 38% Pharah rocket direct hit rate in 07:25 playtime on Numbani is the highest I've ever seen sustained. We've been considering anything over 20% to be good, and @Mangachu_ had around 25% in the world cup. Tl;dr kid popped off
2+ years ago, @emonggtv went out of his way on my podcast to defend his 16 year old teammate, @sinatraa, who faced (somewhat fair) criticism for immaturity. Emongg wanted the world about how amazing a teammate and leader Jay was turning out to be, and now he's the #OWLMVP
Tobi didn't just set a single-map environmental kill record (8 on Eichenwalde), but he also set an entire-match environmental kill record (9). Previous records were 6 (by Muma) and 7 (tie between several lucios) respectively.
Now that this stage is over, I think @super_OW has become by far my favorite western player. so much passion, so much skill, so much fire, he's everything a coach, teammate, or even broadcast would want
If anyone's curious what I do during the offseason -- it's this: overwatchleague.com/en-us/ne…
Welcome to the Overwatch League Stats Lab. This is two years' worth of internal stats tool development now available for the public to play with!
I once asked an OW dev if it felt weird that certain players would always be able to play their game better than them, even if they created it.
He said that he thought of Overwatch as a Ferrari, and the developers were its engineers and mechanics.
Water -- he's the driver
.@Poko now has 41 Self-Destruct kills in 3 matches. I highly doubt any of the D.Vas yet to play their third match will surpass him, the next closest are @envyow and @wg1646 with 11. Pure insanity how consistent he is with his ults #OWL2018#OverwatchLeague
Someone correct me if I'm unable to recall properly but I believe that has to be the first major tournament, OWL or otherwise, with a successful 7 map reverse-sweep in professional Overwatch history
SIMULATION UPDATE:
15 out of 10,000 simulations predicted this finals!
Of those 15...
Fusion won 12 times
Paris won 3 times
6 outcomes went to map 7
4 outcomes went to map 6
no outcomes were 4-0 sweeps
BUCKLE UP
Been waiting for the org statement
Events like these are doubly painful. "ellie" was a conduit for the very real hurt and harassment that women experience in gaming. Now, vindictive men celebrate. We must not forget the first lesson: to support women if we want esports to thrive
I don't know if it's good or bad but somehow Rialto has become an iconic map
King's Row is too popular so it's never the last map played...Rialto just hits a sweet spot it seems
.@DF_aKm just set a new single-map Average Energy record (for players w/ at least as much time played as him) at 79%, previous record held by Sinatraa (77.5%).
Fissure finished with 6 goals and 0 assists or saves, the only player with none of either
Poko had 5 goals, 3 assists, and 19 saves (and the game winner!)
Saw discussion about "why sub in Haksal at Brig" Here are the brig stats from NYXL vs GZC
a hallmark of Haksal's brig play throughout GOATs (which carried over to this season) was incredible whipshots and unreal raw output, leading him to have rally more often than other brigs
sometimes I feel like I'm doing pretty good for myself and then I get a text from my dad about how my doctor brother answered an "is there any doctor on this plane" call to help someone in distress on his flight home from vacation
I kicked his ass in high school tho
I just woke up after having the weirdest dream last night. @LAGladiators were in a Map 5 against Outlaws and @Hydration went Lucio, @Shaz_OW was Tracer, and @BigGooseOW was loose on Sombra. And they won! Man it's crazy what your brain can make up while sleeping...
I'm obviously biased, but a team managed and coached by @ggHarsha just took down a team with several starters that were scouted by Harsha in a massive 7 game series. At some point, we have to start connecting the dots here. A true Harsha-bowl for the ages
Toronto's experiment will be super interesting to watch. They've built a team of popular players, and a lot of native Canadians. Their players have shown flashes of greatness, but haven't been permanent starters. Can they reach their potential? Who will be their main support?
The cat is out of the bag -- I'll be joining @Blizzard_Ent and the @overwatchleague ! I cannot thank @Overbuff , @jcoene , and @lawliepop enough for trusting me with their platform for my content <3
Due to some push for naming consistency my team decided to stop using numbers in our variable names, which I didn't agree with but also didn't fight, because from now until forever players who played Overwatch One (1) are branded as owo_players
