Meet Josh, a North Carolina State Trooper, a foster parent, a caregiver, and our June Hero of the Month.
He has been named Trooper of the Year twice. He never told anyone.
He leads his county in DWI arrests, making sure families make it home safe on the roads of western North Carolina. When Hurricane Helene tore through the region, he was on the Water Rescue team. When a young girl started hemorrhaging after a tonsillectomy, he showed up. That family got more time with their daughter because of him.
When the uniform comes off, he does not stop. He and his wife opened their home to children in foster care, welcoming seven kids in their first two years. They adopted their daughter and are raising her alongside their five year old son. Through it all, his wife was diagnosed with leukemia at 32. He has been her constant through every appointment, every hard day, every unknown.
His mother in law wrote it best. He walks into a room, reads it, and quietly takes care of whoever needs it without asking for credit. He serves because he cares and protects because it is his responsibility. Heroes are often defined by a single moment of bravery. Josh's story is different.
Welcome to the Camping World family. We cannot wait to get you and yours out on the road.
