Issues like this are why we try to support devices for longer - Google has stopped providing updates for the Pixel 3, 3a, and just ended support for the Pixel 4 as well - however CalyxOS is still supporting them, and thus we were able to include the fix for this easily.

The latest version of Chromium, 105.0.5195.124, released about 5 hours ago has been integrated into our codebase (based on Bromite)
Google only has theirs rolling out at 25% now.
It is available through our testing F-Droid repo, and will also be included in the next OS update.

Running any OS implies lots of trust and any update can be a pretty significant attack vector. At least our updates are cryptographically signed so you can't get a rogue update from a 3rd party. And the updates are good since we are pushing the monthly Google security patches.

Well sort of, phones can still connect to the cell towers without a SIM card for emergency call purposes. Best to always use airplane mode if that's your concern.
