Special equipment is supposed to be inspected at that point and was not, an error by the official.
Also, the notion that dreads are not natural makes no sense. They are by definition natural.
More to come.
Jordan Burroughs just revealed he had a torn calf.
He suffered it in the Trials finals against Ringer. Doctors told him it would take 8 weeks for him to recover.
He won Worlds in less than 3 weeks.
From eyewitness account:
-The hair cover for Andrew Johnson was not required because of the length according to the official, rather because it was "unnatural"
-Official told Johnson he would need a hair cover at weigh ins, Johnson said he had one, but Official didn't inspect.
Just spent 2 weeks here, went just about everywhere and it couldn’t have been a more smooth, safe and pleasant experience.
Loved it. You should have gone!
Nebraska getting all nine to semis or blood round is such an achievement in itself.
The Huskers are 11-0 on the backside. That's incredibly rare and quite a statement.
A fan harassed Jordan Burroughs as he walked into the tunnel after losing to Jason Nolf.
Fan was repeatedly screaming that Jordan’s career was over. Mark Manning and Jordan responded before continuing their walk to the team area.
Really surprised that is the fan reaction after what could be Jordan’s last match and all that he’s meant to wrestling.
Penn State set the scoring record by scoring 172.5 points.
They also beat second place by exactly 100 points.
There's not a juggernaut in all of sports quite like Penn State.

“Thank you for believing in me.”
There’s so many amazing and gut wrenching moments in the tunnels at NCAA’s. This one between Vincent Robinson and Pat Popolizio was very special.

Penn State has registered for the US Open.
Zain Retherford - 65
Jason Nolf - 70
Bo Nickal - 92
Huge interest in Bo Nickal. If anyone can give World Champ J'Den a run at 92 spot, it could be Bo.
Mark Hall took his shoes off, symbolizing his retirement from wrestling.
An emotional Hall walked out of the arena to a loud ovation from the PSU crowd.
Awesome career for Mark.

Hands to the face officially out of control. This is really bad.
Wrestling needs to reward skill exclusively.
Punish the flagrant, ignore the incidental.
July 25th. Don't make any other plans.
Kyle Dake vs Frank Chamizo
David Taylor vs Pat Downey
Darrion Caldwell vs Luke Pletcher
Roman Bravo-Young vs Jack Mueller
Vito Arujau vs Sammy Alvarez

This is the first time I saw Ben Askren wrestle. The big fro and the crazy technique were pretty mind blowing to witness.
Knowing the dominance both Jake Herbert and Ben showed that year, it's hard to imagine a bonus point win for either. But that's exactly what Ben did.
It's Ben's birthday today! Happy birthday to the legendary Ben Askren!!
Last night Thomas Gilman revealed he suffered a Lis Franc injury on his foot during match 1 against Vito of the Trials.
Multiple surgeons recommended an operation that would end his Olympic run.
He sought another opinion, got things right and won Bronze.
Ok, I slept on it:
The combination of unbelievably high stakes, incredible skill, raucous atmosphere and the unthinkable, momentum shifting wins and losses made that the best dual I’ve ever seen.
Thomas Gilman told the media that he tested positive for Covid 3 weeks ago.
It was touch and go for a bit if he could compete. He recovered, tested negative and won a title in fantastic fashion.
Sebastian Rivera's last three matches were supposed to be:
1/18 - #16 Connor Brown
1/20 - #7 Sean Russell
1/27 - #2 Spencer Lee
Instead he got:

Man what a great job by @BigTenNetwork on Alex & Eli.
Thanks to Alex, Moriah and the Stickley's willingness to open up their lives about something so difficult.
It affected me immensely and was incredibly inspirational to me personally.
WHAT THE HECK
AJ Ferrari gets TD in SV1 against Zach Glazier of Iowa.
He shoved Glazier at the end, threw a punch and gave Glazier the middle finger.
Zach Glazier was named the winner after DQ from Ferrari, even though Ferrari won on the mat.
I've never seen that.
Didn't get to mention it, but the 150 8-man is set.
Bajrang Punia takes the 8th and final spot. 😎
Jordan Oliver, James Green, Anthony Ashnault, Joey McKenna, Evan Henderson, Pat Lugo, Bryce Meredith and now BAJRANG!
While the world outside wrestling may not fully understand the magnitude of the upset, the combination of unglued commentators and the bedlam of the crowd and coaches reaction tell the story of the upset better than any description of accolades.
