I had struggled with this for a while now…
Do I take the risk of alienating some parents?
What if someone gets offended and I lose one of my kids?
I am called as a Christian to spread the word, but I am no where near a perfect example of Christ.
This Easter I finally made the call. Instead of a speech that none of my QBs actually listen to, I decided to start praying with my kids after every practice.
The support has been outstanding, and I leave every practice with a sense of peace I’ve never felt before. I’m grateful for the opportunity to impact many kids on the field, and if I can influence even one of them through Christ off the field, it will all be worth it. 🙏🏼

When I finished coaching college football, I watched this middle school class grow into young men.
I’ve been coaching long enough to sense that this group would be special, but the recruiting process was challenging, and there were times when we weren’t sure how things would turn out.
God is good all the time, and He answered the prayers of 11 of our quarterbacks. I couldn’t be prouder of this class!

One thing I’ve focused more in my training is adding anticipation + leverage rather than reaction in the throwing portion of our drills.
Always switching up the base + our movements while still being able to layer balls and anticipate in different routes and situations.

The longer I train QBs the more I realize there is no replicating being a starting QB in a game.
The game gets slower, anticipation becomes easier, you see a couple steps ahead.

I remember riding up to Mulberry HS with @QBcoach1 to train the Polk QBs… And there was this freshman lefty with long arms that I didn’t think much of
He didn’t say much but he listened, and every time we came back he showed up and just kept getting better.
Then he started coming to Tampa and by the time he was going to his junior season I didn’t even recognize that little lefty from the first sessions.
The tape don’t lie, the kid is an absolute baller and is going to one of the best programs in the country now.

HS prospects be smart about your summer camp schedule.
Hit the schools you need to and want to, but space out your camps.
Bus tours are great but consider taking a rest the following week.
Camp legs are real and if you have 3-4 camps every week for 2 months you’re going to be fatigued for fall camp.
