Why NIKKI HALEY should be president and Donald Trump should not.
--Many polls show Haley has a better chance of beating President Biden than Trump might. Being the nominee doesn't matter if you can't win the White House.
--Polls have shown majorities of Americans don't want either Trump or Biden to be re-elected.
--FiveThirtyEight says Trump's unfavorability rating is at 53%. Nikki Haley's is only 32%. Haley would invite more voters across the board and would probably unite the country more.
--Haley displays intelligence, focus, determination and calm in speaking about ways to tackle our country's issues and how to lead into the future, while Trump has been focused in large measure on the past, rambles in speeches, has been self-centered, bitter, and verbally abusive, as evidenced by his attacks on people involved in prosecuting him for his alleged crimes.
--Haley points out we can't have "4 years of chaos, vendettas, & drama". The Washington Post reported that Trump and his allies are forming plans to use the federal government to punish critics and opponents, investigate or prosecute them, and possibly use the Insurrection Act to have the military crush demonstrations on his first day in office if re-elected.
--Haley has her eye on reducing the National Debt, almost a staggering $34 trillion. She says one solution must be to make some changes to Social Security. The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump rejects even modest changes to Social Security. During the Trump administration, $8 trillion was added to the National Debt. The Washington Post reports that Trump, if re-elected, may try to reduce the corporate tax rate further, limiting government revenue, and possibly increasing the National Debt further.
--Haley is participating in all the Republican debates. Trump is avoiding them, thereby limiting discussion of whether another Trump term would adversely affect the country.
--Trump was found liable for sexual abuse, battery and defamation of E. Jean Carroll. A New York judge also found Trump and his company committed repeated acts of business fraud for years. Haley is not sullied by such repeated run-ins with the law.
--There is a sizable "Never Trump" segment of Republicans, and some of them say if Trump becomes the nominee, they'll vote Democratic.
--Trump has praised some dictators, also said "You know, Hezbollah is very smart, they're all very smart", and criticized the leader of ally Israel. Haley has said she would not do these things, partly because she says "The stakes couldn't be higher".
