🇦🇷🇺🇳 | UNICEF reports that over 2.5 million children have been lifted out of poverty in Argentina, while the share of families forced to reduce meals for economic reasons dropped from 52% to 30%.

Unfortunately a very high confidence low competance response. This assesment doesn't take into account the central bank liabilities which were enormous and Milei inherited. The central bank liabilities, which refute this whole argument, were doubling the money supply every month. Milei diffused this bomb which would have caused hyper inflation, created mass poverty, and ruined Milei's administration immediately. The peso denominated securities-- liabilities to the bank-- were on every balance sheet of every institution in the country and were used to even pay employees. These had to be unwound without a panic which would have caused hyperinflation. Very difficult giving these were very short term securities. The fact is that Milei has cut money emission to virtually nothing and is positioning the country to eliminate the central bank despite negative reserves. The money supply growth was from winding down the LELIQ scheme Milei inherited. By running surpluses, he didn't need the central bank to finance the deficit. Also, defaulting is not an option when the country has defaulted 9 times and no investors trusts the country. Improving the country risk and making Argentina viable again for investments is working and Argentine is becoming an attractive investment. The gold scheme has been happening in Argentina since at least 2016 but probably since 2011. This is not new to Milei and is utilized by dozens of countries. They also didn't send all the gold but a portion of it. This is a nothingburger. Argentine has left the recession and had 3.9% quarterly growth while inflation had been cut almost 90%. Milei's plan is working, poverty is declining, and he has done this with 10% and 15% of the senate and legislature respectively. When Milei took office, the general concensus is that he would accomplish nothing given the extraordinary weak government. To everyone's astonishment, Milei has balanced the budget, deregulated, is privitizing state run businesses, and lowered inflation. This is a marvelous feat not covered in your "analysis."

However, the congress, filled with socialists, sabotaged Milei by overriding his vetos. This caused markets to become very volatile. The threat is that the Peronists come back to power, and the congress wanted to destroy the progress of Milei by ruining his economic system of balanced budgets before the election to weaken him.
