As the Patriots continue trade talks for DeAndre Hopkins, I was told today it would be “an absolute failure” on Belichick AND Kraft if they can’t close this deal.
Personal opinion: Hopkins is the last offensive weapon they need to add to complete the offense (other than fixing the line), especially heading into the draft. There needs to be a sense of urgency as they’re coming off their 2nd under .500 season in the last three years. Trades are complex when it comes to compensation. As I said Sunday, Bourne & Parker are pieces Bill wants to keep and won’t give up in the deal. It might come down to money and figuring out a restructure deal but you got to pay. Can’t be cute anymore, Brady ain’t walking through that door. It’s year 3 with Mac Jones and you have to surround him with as much talent you can while he’s on his rookie deal. There really isn’t an excuse here.
