Don't compare this current price to a visit a year or more ago.

A very good example as to why brisket sold at BBQ joints is much more than the raw price. Add in wood, seasoning, many hours of labor, and the real estate costs.

Last thing I expected to see in Seward, Alaska is a Texas BBQ joint. Transplanted former firefighter from Texas serving brisket, ribs, and more cooked on small pits including use of mesquite chunks. Robert Earl Keen and Willy Nelson playing on the radio and Shiner Bock for sale!

Don't know how much can or cannot be prevented when we live in a hurricane zone, preparation is key.
A couple months ago we were hit with heavy winds and tornado too with very little warning, at least the hurricane gives us a week.

Ervin doesn't talk much but his wife Carolyn will chat while she rings you up.
Saturdays and Sundays they open at 11 but get there before noon for one of the most unique experiences in Texas BBQ.
