Reporting aurora sightings from 2010 to 2024. First aurora reporting account on all social media, which lead to many others doing the same... the aurora is out!
I witnessed the lunar eclipse and a soft aurora next to it from North Pole Alaska. Very beautiful! The clouds and my trees were a factor. Here's a photo i took with my phone, which reflected it's lights off my window. The moon is the tiny white light. I hope you saw it where u r.
Tons of reports tonight because of this big storm! However, I'm getting a lot of messages on here and on Facebook that people are waiting for the "peak" or "best" time because that's what the news told them. Those people are missing the show. You start watching when it's dark!
Reminders: charge camera batteries, have gas in your car, cell phone charged, watch the data as it gets dark. Be in place. Don't ask where to go during the event. Go where it's clear and dark.
Fairbanks Alaska temperature -12F expect -30F. Add wind chill and it may be -60. Use caution. Don't turn off your vehicle. Tell someone where you are going. Message me if you have no one to tell where you are going. ~ Amy
