Pine needles contain a sticky sap, and this can adhere inside any vacuum cleaner. For this reason, we'd suggest only picking them up in small quantities avoid risking a blockage.

That doesn't sound right. A warranty would be valid, as long as the machine is purchased from an authorized Dyson retailer. We would again invite you to DM your details, and we'd be more than happy to lend a second set of eyes on this.
