I've long thought of patriarchy/misogyny in academia as defined in pt by governing assumption that *reputations* of men are more important to keep safe than the *bodies* of women, children, &c. But still utterly shocked & horrified by this--both the deeds & the attempt at erasure

Great example of how “Judeo-Christian” rhetoric doesn’t actually include Jews (and often is a bit off even in terms of representing Christianity - “holiest time,” really...?)
Our churches must reopen. We need to pray at this time of the year. It is the holiest time in the Judeo-Christian calendar. If we can have Walmart, Cotsco, liquor stores, strip clubs and supermarkets we can have churches.

This 👇 is what I personally have found so vital about Twitter as an academic - a space to hear voices and encounter experiences that our institutions systematically compartmentalize and isolate if not wholly silence
Yeah, at present, in most other social media spaces, securely employed folks can go for days without encountering conversations about academic labor, underemployment, gatekeeping, etc Sure, everyone *wants* fewer of those conversations. But they *need* to be inescapable
