MeL has the ability to be on a tier1 team for sure, doesn’t mean she deserves to be (nobody deserves anything in life), and I definitely do not think she wants to be on a t1 team just for the fact she is a girl, she wants to earn her spot. Its very disingenuous for these articles to pop up with this head title. No pro will respond bc their answer will be taken out of context if it even slightly differs from this narrative. Sure some pros are sexist, but i dont think the majority are. Classic case of the people whove never taken a sport or game seriously in their life having a Virtue signal fest on a topic the people impacted by it cant speak out about. this is an esport where the goal is to win a trophy, not a diversity award. I dont think it matters who you disinclude so long as its not based on prejudice just for who they are. If they are given a fair shot and dont mesh well with the team, then what is so wrong with that? But to your point, there is a deep underlying reason why this is happening, and I think it has to do with how esports started and is why women havent meshed into mens teams just yet

I agree with this. I also think teams can get along with one girl. Im simply stating a reason why teams might not want to though. People love to talk about 'the right fit' until the reasoning for not picking someone up is that they are a girl and they don't mesh with everyone else (because god forbid that people are different and dont mesh well together). Most people would agree if it was something along the lines of "EG wont pick up zmjjkk due to him not being the right fit. His culture clashes with the rest of the team". There isnt enough information to be having that conversation though, as the whole point of what I am saying is that everyone is rushing to conclusions without any evidence. I dont want a get out of jail free card. I truly want to discuss this further, and didnt want to bother you, but since you asked ill gladly elaborate. My point is that a lot of tier 1 teams' common cause for becoming the best is cammaradarie and 'brotherhood'. You of all people will know that success in a group comes from a driving force that unites everyone. I think that right now in esports, a lot of tier 1 teams are united by this sense of brotherhood in the literal sense, just guys being guys, and women are outsiders to that world due to that. I believe that meL might not fit into the environments that these tier 1 teams have cultivated because she does not fit the description of their 'target team mate' if that makes sense. I don't think that meL was denied an opportunity to trial due to her skill, nor do I think its 'because shes a girl and nobody wants to play with a girl', which is why I made this tweet. Slasher recently clarified that meL has been given trials for tier 1 teams, and her skill was not the reason she wasn't picked up (he said it had to do with team fit and her buyout being so high). To summarize, male tier 1 players might not want to break out of the mould as to why their teams have been so cohesive. I hope this clarifies, and im happy to continue this discussion :)
Oh and I know there is a fine line between sexism and denying her a spot because she isn't the right fit, thats why I want to discuss this.

i understand to some it may not be that serious, but i wish valorant players could empathize with their team mates having sensory issues or becoming overstimulated. i love fun and loud games, but i don’t love deliberate screaming into the mic to mess with me in clutches AFTER i’ve already explained that i’m having trouble focussing and if they could please stop. don’t get me wrong, i’m loud in comms, but when i’ve had team mates tell me they are over stimulated i lower my tone significantly. at the end of the day i want to play well and win, so it would be really cool if we could start normalizing this kind of concept in comms 🙂 thank you
