“[Whale & Wasp is] another song that I had lying around for a while. In fact, it's one of my earliest pieces of music—I was probably around 18 or 19 when I wrote it. So when we started writing for Jar Of Flies, I had to remember how the song went. Mike [Inez] talked about putting some strings on the record, and we thought 'Whale And Wasp' would be a good song for that.
