I don't think people realize how enormous the ASI selection is. Just look at the unwavering conviction DOT Sec. Duffy and FAA admin Bedford showed months before the award. They were talking about ASI all along. Most delays are caused by the workload involved in separating and sequencing air traffic. ASI's predictive platform basically nukes that workload for air traffic controllers which frees up time and effort to manage more aircraft in a given airspace while creating no delays for everyone who flies. It is the same Jevon's Paradox in AI now playing out in aviation. The expanded capacity ASI will create should put to bed any concerns about $JOBY being able to integrate and scale safely in the national airspace. What a partner they chose. And of course it helps that ASI is backed by @a16z under their American Dynamism project. Nothing screams american dynamism more than solving one of the most intractable problem of all-time which is modernizing civil aviation in America.
