I completely agree, and I have nothing against the people in the pictures.
But when there are already 20 organizations that do same thing and have grounding, making a new one has less value. Especially when the founders don't actually do anything, it's just to tick a box.

My first contributions were to @IstioMesh, which is in golang. I got started writing unit tests. And I think its beginner friendly, im 15 so if you count me a beginner it's beginner friendly.

Whenever I go to LinkedIn now, I see tons of my HS connections just commenting 'yes' 'yay' and all sorts of stupid things on some random college freshman's post saying they are organizing internships with the big companies. As @sdan_io said, this is NOT the way to get internships

Not really, all you need to do is get a work permit. Its way easier than it sounds, no legal taboo around it. I did all of my stuff in an hour, and it was super easy.

I am very thankful for @goserverless.
Earlier, I was using a custom makefile to deploy to a function, but I needed deployments. I started using the serverless framework with AWS, life got MUCH easier.
For anyone starting with lambda, use the serverless framework.

It was an rpi 4 - should have phrased the tweet better. I like my current desktop setup.
Going to be running kubernetes on my (now 8) rpis. It's insane how powerful they are. I have something like 3 rpi 2s, 4 rpi 3s, and 1 rpi 4. Super excited.

specifically for programming in go, check out the vim-go plugin, and if you like completion and easily going to godoc, try gopls and octetz.com/docs/2019/2019-04… . I have used it, didn't like it as much, but everyone is different.

I was the master of intellij shortcuts, I used intellij and goland almost exclusively before vim. But I can say with confidence, vim is better. It's a steep learning curve and you WILL fail, but the payoff is amazing.
