🚨 South Carolina’s “political firing” statute (§16-17-560) does not shield professors who glorify assassination. It was written to protect free political thought, not to excuse public employees who celebrate violence. Clemson, and every public institution in our state, has the authority and responsibility to act. Professors who move from debate to endorsing murder betray their duty as educators and public servants. The First Amendment protects free speech, but it does not protect threats or the glorification of violence. Our universities must be places of learning, not platforms for radical professors to cheer political assassinations.

The disgusting comments, made so boldly and proudly, by higher education faculty across the nation and here in South Carolina underscore Charlie Kirk’s mission to promote civil discourse on college campuses and universities. We must teach our kids to vehemently disagree and still have conversations. Just this week we helped get an Administrative Subpoena bill passed that cuts red tape to get predators quicker, and we worked to make AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) illegal. When the would-be candidate for Governor criticizes the Attorney General's Office, she's purposefully omitting the fact that judges give sentences, not prosecutors. When she criticizes the prosecutors, she's ignorant to the fact that often, our office is working in sync with a federal agencies that can get more time. Our prosecutors and law enforcement officers are underpaid and overworked. Enough is enough. I won't allow someone to use lies, misinformation, and half truths (at best) to cast a negative light on hardworking men and women of law enforcement.

The decision to bring charges against President Trump was fueled by political motivations, not the rule of law. I believe they wouldn't have been pursued against anyone else, which makes a mockery of the judicial system & causes the public to doubt the integrity of prosecutors.

Today, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals blocked OSHA from enforcing a vaccine mandate for private employers with 100 or more employees until the Court decides whether to grant a permanent injunction against the mandate.
