Here's an interesting sidenote from last week's state hoops.
In Clark County, there are 19 varsity girls basketball teams.
Only five of those teams were coached by women.
Two of those coaches won state titles last weekend.
I changed Lafayette's line in "Guns and Ships" to
"I go to France for more funds
I come back with more
guns
and ships
and some potato chips"
Does that count?
Baseball players for Battle Ground and Skyview high schools stand together in a showing of solidarity against discrimination prior to their game Monday night at Propstra Stadium.
Who would marry a sportswriter? We work weird hours, long hours, weekends. That's why many sportswriters aren't married. And those that are don't stay that way for long. But I'm one of the lucky ones. For 30 years today, this woman has been my partner in life, for life.

The CDC says if 90 percent of us can wear masks in public, we could get this pandemic under control in next 4-12 weeks.
Meanwhile, at a high school football game in Alabama on Thursday.
This is plain bonkers. The KIDS ARE PLAYING IN MASKS!!! The least you can do if you're sitting your rear end in the stands is do the same. Grow up or stay home.
Multiple people, including sources from both schools, have confirmed to The Daily News that Naselle canceled its volleyball match tomorrow at Mossyrock due to the Mossyrock crowd not following COVID-19 social distancing and mask protocols at their matchup last Monday.

Just informed my son of no school on Friday.
He says "You know, they're going to eventually figure this out. Why not just do it today?"
Maybe we should send the kids in to hammer this out.

3 things about this TD run by @LincolnVic5 last night.
1) It's awesome and shows off his speed and elusiveness.
2) Lincoln briefly goes out of frame because I was looking for an exit route in event play came at me.
3) Lincoln crosses goal line like sprinter breaking the tape.
Congratulations to Lincoln Victor and the rest of the All-Region football team
