This narrative portraying these players as “boys” is sickening.
Julianna Greenspan, Callan Foote’s attorney, began Tuesday morning suggesting that E.M., the complainant in the London hockey trial, has had an agenda and has purposefully identified the players as “men” during her testimony.
Greenspan: “You have specifically refused to use the term ‘boy’ at this trial, isn’t that right? You refer to these individuals as ‘man’ and ‘men’ over and over and do not once, not one single time, refer to them as ‘boy’ or ‘boys.’ Do you accept that?"
E.M.: "Yes I accept that... They were at least 18, 19. They were men...that's why I've been referring to them as that."
All five lawyers for the defendants have constantly referred to them as “boys” throughout the trial.
