Until her death in 1981, Nancy McFeely Rogers hand-knit all of her son's TV sweaters. During WWII, she was a volunteer nurse aide who made surgical dressings for the troops. She knitted sweaters for them, too. Happy #MothersDay, Moms! ❤️🙏

On this day 52 years ago, Mister Rogers testified in front of the U.S. Senate to defend public TV from budget cuts. He didn't shout or pound his fists. He actually sang a song. Sen. John Pastore, the subcommittee chairman, was brought to the verge of tears. The rest is history.

55 years ago today on Feb. 19, 1968, it was most certainly a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Mister Rogers made his nationwide debut on National Educational Television (NET), the precursor to @PBS.

Thinking back to that one beautiful hot day when Mister Rogers and Officer Clemmons took a cool dip together in the Neighborhood. The iconic segment first aired in May of 1969 when pool segregation policies accompanied civil unrest.
