World Chain, designed to put humans first, is proudly built on the open source OP Stack and currently brings nearly 22M people to the Optimism Ecosystem, 10M+ of whom are verified as unique humans. Through our 50M WLD grants fund, we’re also working to engage developers to help not only improve World Chain but contribute to the OP Stack in a way that benefits the greater ecosystem.
In 2025, World Foundation aims to bolster its participation in Optimism governance even further. This starts with our application to join the next OP Security Council.
Serving on the Security Council will allow World Foundation to leverage our expertise running secure, reliable and scalable onchain systems to benefit all Superchain participants. Our signers have contributed to some of the most impactful projects in the space: @recmo is a cryptography expert behind EIP-712 and the Hubble L2 node, with contributions to Reth and EIP-4844, and @_ohaiohai led Reliability at Chainlink Labs and participated in securing internal systems used for the Chainlink multisig.
Our commitment will not stop there, however. World Foundation believes that everyone should be able to benefit from the Sybil resistance that proof of human provides, and this year we intend to bring World ID support to other chains in the ecosystem. Additionally, the Chain Delegation Program will allow us to serve the community as delegates and increase our governance participation.
