🚨 Under BitsLab’s "Web3 Securing Plan", our security team discovered and assisted in patching an arbitrary notification spoofing vulnerability in a top wallet’s Android App. 🔍 Vulnerability Details: 🛑 Root Cause: A design flaw in the wallet’s code allowed attackers to manipulate specific notification parameters. By invoking exported sensitive component methods, malicious actors could: → Launch a foreground service → Send arbitrary notifications to the user’s device. ⚡ Exploit Scenario: Triggered during normal app usage (no suspicious behavior). Fake notifications mimicked legitimate alerts (e.g., transaction confirmations). Enabled phishing attacks to steal private keys. 🛠 Solution: BitsLab conducted an in-depth analysis, provided precise fixes, and helped the wallet prevent phishing attacks & data leaks, significantly enhancing security. 🔒 Recommendations for Web3 Projects: ✔ Audit Android components for improper exposure ✔ Validate external intent inputs ✔ Strengthen notification security This case highlights BitsLab’s commitment to Web3 security.
