We just posted our first VMware vSAN performance report in some time, but with Update 2 out for vSAN 8, the timing was perfect for re-engaging. Key takeaways are that vSAN is still amazingly simple to operate and even better now with ESA regarding simplified system design. With all the amazing flash options out there, it's easy to configure vSAN for any persona you need. In this report, we used Western Digital SN655 NVMe SSDs. With the 15.36TB drive capacity, we had a fantastic blend of performance, capacity, and cost.
