For some reason @Harvard has taken down Dean Gay's statement on the death of George Floyd from its original source.... but I think it is worth reflecting on today, and juxtaposing her words then with what she said today when questioned about hate speech towards Jews on campus and questioning the stark difference.
Community note
This post is misleading. Dean Gay’s initial statement has not been taken down and is still accessible via Harvard’s website. Per the Internet Archive, the URLs of all previous news articles were changed in 2022, thus why the original link seen in the image no longer works. fas.harvard.edu/2020/05/31/the… web.archive.org/web/2023000000

This is the problem with the NYT losing so much trust in their journalism / neutrality. A jewish man is killed at a pro- palastian demonstration after being struck in the head by a megaphone by a pro Palestinian protester -- the NYT just skips that part .... The NYT OMITS that it is being investigated as a homicide and omits reports that he was struck in the head with a megaphone and died of blunt trauma ... (which is widely reported elsewhere) Instead they run with a "two sided altercation... pro israel first of course" (with some encoded veiled nod that it was a pro Palestinian demonstration?) and simply asserts he died from a fall. Even if still being investigated based on what everyone else is saying not reporting that this is being investigated as a hate crime is biased -- and this once again shows that the the NYT needs to clean house either in their editing practices or through the ranks of their journalists. this is embarrassing.

Other cultures have their drugs of choice, but the problem with those cultures is their drugs are inferior to caffeine for a variety of reasons (kills people, makes them ineffective, etc.) so they ultimately lose to caffeine.

Liberal Americans who “Support a Cease Fire but not Hamas" what is your plan exactly for getting rid of Hamas? 1. Do you expect the Palestinians to handle it and rid Gaza of Hamas themselves? 2. Do you expect Arab nations to form a coalition and handle the terrorists? 3. Do you want the US to take over and conduct the bombings and go into Gaza instead of Israel? 4. Do you want a western international coalition force to invade Gaza? I am actually quite curious of people that hold this position would explain their thinking, because with rockets being fired at Israel daily, 200+ hostages, and an organization that has declared they intend to conduct as many more terrorist attacks as it takes to rid the world of Jews and erase Israel from the map…. If you don’t support Hamas - recognize they are terrorists - but do want a cease fire, clearly something needs to be done — ? ...and if you don’t want Israel to do it (which honestly I think for PR reasons is clearly everyone’s last choice) … then who would you like to handle it and how? I am legitimately curious to hear the plan...

The US has a ban on foreign owned media for very valid national security reasons... if it wasn't clear before, it should be crystal clear now that there should be no loophole in that for "social" media -- this is a critical national security issue / not about politics.
Community note
The US does not ban foreign-owned media. FCC regulations allow up to 100% foreign ownership of broadcasters after review. No such restrictions apply to cable or internet media. Multiple foreign media companies, including RT and Al Jazeera, operate in the US. docs.fcc.gov/public/attachm
