So much going on at the @wto! Today we celebrated the 100 Year Anniversary of our historic building, the Centre William Rappard on the banks of Lake Geneva, named after the renowned Swiss intellectual William Rappard. This building housed the @ilo until it moved in 1975, handing over occupancy to the GATT which later became the WTO. We were grateful to be joined by the ILO DG, @GilbertFHoungbo, the Mayor of Geneva, Christina Kitsos, and Members of the Rappard Family, our General Council Chair, H.E. Amb Clare Kelly and the Chairperson of the Governing Body of ILO, H.E. Amb Matthew Wilson. Thanks also to other dignitaries, DG of UN Genvea, Tatiana Valovaya @UN_Valovaya, ED of @ITCnews, Pamela @CokeHamilton, among others, as well as Ambassadors and staff members who joined to celebrate. The occasion was also marked by a brilliant WTO-ILO joint Centenary Exhibition and the soft launch of our new WTO marketplace.

We need to ensure that migrant workers have access to decent work and that enterprises can find the skills they need. It's not just a matter of fairness. Skills recognition, fair recruitment, social protection and rights at work are key for resilient & productive labour markets.
