we’ve seen some fud going around accusing flipr of being behind another project with a similar landing page and tos. just to be clear: we’re not behind any other projects. flipr has been the first to ship many new ideas in prediction markets, and we can’t stop others from copying.
on the code side: people point out that “the front end looks the same” almost every tech startup uses nextjs for the frontend and posthog for analytics. folder structures will look identical if you right-click and inspect. that doesn’t mean code reuse.
there’s also noise about us “not doing real leverage.” here’s the simple breakdown:
- users deposit into a leverage vault as collateral
- we lend against that collateral for margin trades using vault wallet
- off-chain order management + liquidation engine handles execution
- prediction markets have thin liquidity and high spreads, so we require a refundable collateral insurance in case of liquidation to protect the vault fund
- all transactions happen onchain in the vault wallet
nothing hidden, nothing shady. we don’t usually waste time on proofless fud, but this is the last statement we’ll make on it.
