We’ve got nothing but Real Love for @bts_bighit, which is why we’re providing extra service on the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and the #130 Museum Campus bus to their concerts at Soldier Field tonight and tomorrow.
Let’s hear it for the @chicagosky! We’re proud to honor our #WNBA Champions with a #SkyTown celebratory train wrap. Look for our specially-designed, blue-and-yellow rail cars rolling on the Green Line, beginning Monday 11/1!

Thank you to those who voiced concern for the bird that boarded the Brown Line earlier today. We're happy to report that upon reaching its destination at the Armitage Station, the pigeon safely alighted the train. Let this be a reminder, that even those who can fly ride CTA. 😉
Yikes! April isn’t supposed to be this cold. We heard you and we agree: We’re keeping our rail station heaters on, and turning back on the ones we shut off, until it warms up a bit.
It’s not a crime to be homeless. The CTA understands that for too many people, our system—particularly our rail lines that run 24 hours a day—can become a shelter of last resort.
Take a ride back in time with us as we celebrate 100 years of the 4000-series rail cars!
This Saturday, July 29, the historic rail cars will run around the Loop ‘L’ from 10 am to 2 pm.

Due to an unusual (and wonderful!) turnout, we have switched back to boarding the 100-year-old 4000-seried cars from the Pink/Orange side at Washington/Wabash. The 2400s will continue to make all stops.
Our #Pride Train is back!
Transit’s for everyone. No matter who you are, who you love, or how you identify, we're proud to be the people to get you where you're going.
Welcome aboard.
Special thanks to sponsor @usbank!!! #Pride2018#pridetrain#chicago
For #BlackHistoryMonth, we’re proud to salute “CTA Pioneers.” Here's a photo of Mary Wallace, who, in 1974, became the first woman to drive a CTA bus. The Englewood native remained on the job for 33 years before retiring! #ctahistory
On October 31, 1993, CTA opened the Orange Line. 🍊
It was the first completely new 'L' line since the Dan Ryan Line (today's South Side Red Line) opened in 1969.

We're proud to be one of the first transit agencies in the nation to offer on-site COVID-19 vaccines for employees. Our staff have been on the front lines the entire pandemic, and we continue working to provide a healthy commute for them and you. @chicagosmayor@ChiPublicHealth
It's November 1st and you know what that means: overhead heaters at all 120+ outdoor stations are officially on!
ALT Three people stand under a platform heat lamp at the Clinton Green and Pink line station. Two of them appear to enjoy the warmth from the heat lamp as they smile with their arms up.
A very special "thank you!!!" to our friends at @MTA@NYCTSubway Rail Control for surprise NY-style pizzas sent to our tireless Control Center, who’re working extra hard today to coordinate service and crews and keep Chicago moving in spite of this extraordinary cold! 😍🍕

@Cubs legend, Ernie Banks (nicknamed Mr. Cub) was a CTA board member from 1969 to 1981.
The sign pictured was used on the North-South Route and was double-sided, with readings for the Cubs and Sox ballparks, since the route passed both.

Our crews continue to work all hours of the day to ensure trains, buses and stations are cleaned and disinfected daily.

We salute our @chiredstarsPR ⚽🙌, who are on track and on the attack for a National Women’s Soccer League championship. Their title quest is Sunday afternoon against the North Carolina Courage. Best of luck, ladies! Score a championship for Chicago! #Bringhomethetitle
Happy 182nd birthday, City of Chicago! Here's a historical pic from our collection, looking north on Michigan Ave toward Chicago Ave in the early 1960s. We're proud to be your local public transit provider! 🏙️🚌🚃🎂🎉🎁 #chicagohistory#ctahistory#magnificentmile#watertower
We're out here at O'Hare having a little fun with our 6000-series Heritage Fleet cars celebrating 40 years of 'L' service to ORD.
We're here til 2pm (last trip at 1:30) with posters, pins and a pair of 2400s parked in their original 1980s livery.
Come say hi!
Lights will guide you home, but we'll take care of the ride. Enjoy free rides home from the @coldplay concert on CTA!
Turnstiles will be open from 11:30pm-12:30am on 5/28 & 5/29 at Roosevelt station only.

Chicago, you're on the nice list! 🎅✨
Today, Santa and his elves are making a surprise trip around the loop from 10 am-2 pm for the last time this season.
🎵 We heard you say, TGIF!
What better way to celebrate than with #housemusic? @CDubSouL & @meaganmcneal (📹 by @jeremiahspofford) brought some #SoulEL to the Green Line 'L' 🔥! Nicely done @MuseumFloating.
⏪ Two years ago today, the 1,000-ton Vautravers Building arrived in its new location!
In about 24 hours, the 127-year-old building was moved approximately 30 feet west and 10 feet south toward N Clark Street to reconstruct century-old Red and Purple Line track structures.
Our crews wrapped up the final weekend of track work on the O’Hare branch! We've replaced the 50-year-old crossover that was built with the original Kimball Subway portion of the Blue Line in 1970. These new tracks will help meet increasing ridership demand on the O’Hare branch.
What do we have planned for 2022? Great news! No service cuts, no fare increases and permanent savings on our popular multi-day passes!

In order to align with State guidance, CTA will no longer be requiring masks on public transit. Those who wish to continue masking are encouraged to do so. Please be kind and courteous to fellow riders as we continue to welcome folks back to the CTA.
The new #RedPurpleBypass opens tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 19!
The new Bypass carries Kimball-bound (northbound) Brown Line trains over north- and southbound Red and Purple Line tracks just north of Belmont station to remove traffic jams at this intersection.
We just want to say "thank you" to everyone who took our service this morning. Despite the record-cold temperatures, we understand that people still need to get places and we take our responsibility to get you there very seriously. 🚍🚏🚃✅

We can't keep this secret any longer 🤭! Oct 14 🎬 our most popular series “Ride the Rails,” returns in 4k, with updated videos highlighting CTA’s eight rail lines, each seen from the perspective of the rail Operator. Tune in: ow.ly/lu1R50wGYgp to watch the magic unfold✨!
ICYMI: On Tuesday, Oct 1, we'll be bringing our 6000-series Heritage Fleet cars out onto the Loop 'L' to say "thank you" to you, our riders on our anniversary! It'll be the first time these cars have been enjoyed by the public since retirement in the 90s! ow.ly/3PuD50wvS1f
Congratulations to our newest Rail Instructors!
Together, this group has 87 years of service to the CTA and will now help to train our next generation of rail operators.
We're extending one of our most heavily ridden routes, the #9 Ashland, to the Ravenswood Metra station located at Lawrence and Ravenswood.
The extension will reach an additional 21,000 residents and 15,000 jobs (within ½ mile) as compared to the current routing.
[Service Suspended] At 6:30pm, service will be suspended on all bus and rail lines at the request of public safety officials. Service is expected to resume tomorrow morning.
You can now move and groove at the 95th/Dan Ryan Street Red Line station for another season of live DJ sets. There will be awesome beats played as part of AESOP: An Extended Song of Our People, a DJ booth and performance space.
Forgot your face mask 😷? CTA’s got you covered! We’re debuting a new pilot to dispense free, disposable face masks to help riders without face coverings. Look for dispensers on 200 buses serving 20 routes. Learn more about protecting yourself & others: transitchicago.com/cta-annou…
October isn’t supposed to be this cold! Like many of you, we’ve already pulled out our heavy coats and hats. We’re also turning on our platform heaters before their normal Nov. 1 date. Nearly every station is on already, and we’ll get to the remaining stations asap. Stay warm!
Crews continue to work tirelessly thru the cold to keep your service moving! Overnight, we experienced a track issue on the Blue Line near Harlem (O'Hare). Crews were out quick & finished repairs w/o a disruption, despite brutal conditions. We're grateful for their amazing work!
New station just dropped! Preliminary design announced in partnership with @ChicagoDOT for State and Lake 'L' station, will replace 100-year-old structure with a modern, fully accessible rail hub. transitchicago.com/mayor-lig…
Meet Mattie 🐶, one of our cutest rail fans! Each day, Mattie gets her owner to take her to the Rockwell Brown Line station, so she can watch the ‘L’ trains come and go. This five-year-old Border Collie mix is a station favorite! Thanks, Mattie, for showing us some love ♥!
Halloween 🎃 may be over but 3 year old Avari deserves some recognition for pulling off this costume ✨! Avari’s dad and aunt work for CTA and it’s no surprise that we found out Avari won the costume contest at a Halloween party this year!
